Dutch agency Van Wanten Etcetera created the campaign “Written Portraits”, which show the different faces behind the (auto) biographies of Anne Frank, Vincent van Gogh, Louis van Gaal and Kader Abdolah. Souverein made the artwork and did an amazing job creating realistic images. Even the structure of the original book pages was used for the text inside the portraits to get right structure for each portrait.
A video of… a book: a charming, illustrated notebook by Mayke Nunes in “My Moleskine® daily (by maykelcn1).”
I’ve seen several good videos of books, as new media attempts to capture the beauty of ‘“old” media.
(Of course, the video sites also contain boring, unnecessarily long video explanations about the colors used in each page and which celebrity portraits were pasted in… Which is why I appreciate the video posted here all the more for its simplicity, clarity, and high quality work! To my great amusement, some of the young recorders call turning pages “a flip,” and emphasize the word “page” as if it is trademarked and branded… I hope they get over that. )
